Der Artifort Sessel Ribbon Ribbon by French designer Pierre Paulin is a uniquely beautiful example of applied art. The ribbon is fully padded. Pierre Paulin designed the armchair in 1966. The Ribbon Chair consists of a metal frame that forms the seat with horizontal springs. The springs are padded with foam and covered with flexible fabrics. The striking foot is made of wood, which is coated with high-quality and extremely hard car paint. The ribbon is part of the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia.

Pierre Paulin & Artifort 
Paulin is considered the French representative of the flower power era. Dutch manufacturer Artifort has been producing its designs since the beginning of its career. The designer Pierre Paulin designed unique furniture with an unmistakable, organic shape early on. Paulin's sculptural furniture is still visionary and futuristic today. Paulin has won awards worldwide for his work as a designer. He also designed interiors for French Presidents Pompidou and Mitterrand at the Elysée Palace in Paris. French President Sarkozy paid tribute to his life's work with the words "The man who made design an art". In November 2009, Paulin was posthumously honored with the Royal Designer for Industry (RDI) award.
