A chair with an unmistakable character
The extraordinary design of the ClassiCon combines traditional wickerwork and high-tech wood processing into a unique piece of furniture. The award-winning Tilla Goldberg from IPPOLITO FLEITZ GROUP designed the 2018 chair for ClassiCon. The name Aërias stands for the design concept: a structure that seems to be flying through the air - a seating object. The chair combines the lightness of an airy shape with a strong character. On a filigree milled molded wood frame, the Aërias spans familiar patterns of Viennese braiding with a different scale and made of leather as the braiding material.
comfort and design
The seating comfort results from the leather straps, which are stretched over the wooden frame. The covering with wide straps creates a leather surface that absorbs the movements of the body and makes sitting particularly comfortable. Enormous craftsmanship is able to implement the centuries-old technique of weaving in this large format. The graphic pattern is reinforced by the optional use of two optionally different leather colors (image shows black/black).
Tubular steel, molded wood and leather - tension between tradition and modernity
The noble materials of the ClassiCon Aërias lead to a tension between tradition and modernity. The seat and backrest made of molded wood, painted black or gray, rest on the tubular steel frame, powder-coated in black or gray. The wooden frame is covered with a mesh made of reinforced leather strap. The leather braiding is optionally available with one or two leather colors.
