The shell of the chair is made of two bent sheets of plywood covered with fabric, under which there is a simple construction. The armrests are part of the seat base and the entire shell appears as if it is floating, regardless of its relatively inconspicuous support. It's about paying homage to retro furniture and playing with typologies. Monk comes in two variants - a chair and an armchair - which share the same upper part of the construction, while the lower part (feet) is higher in the chair version and lower in the armchair version. Together, the two monks combine the functions of daily work and contemplation.
